The Rundown: Riley and his friends become murder suspects and Patty discovers a dark secret.

Things are going from bad to worse for both Patty and Riley when Riley and his band discover a dead body and are brought in by the police as suspects. Patty’s world is rocked not only by her son being in custody but also because the deceased was the prime suspect in the murder of her friend years ago.
Patty is determined to get her son and his friends freed and their return home includes the surprise return of her husband and the revelation that their suspect might have been innocent. A revelation that unnerves one of Patty’s friends. At the same time, Riley learns his band has been given a bigger opportunity. Unfortunately, their recent notoriety might be the reason.
The Story: A consistently clever, sweet, funny and entertaining story from Kelly Sue DeConnick. With each issue, I not only fall in love with the characters and their relationships, but I also become more immersed in the mystery at the heart of it. I love Patty as a character and her relationship with her kids is awesome. The story has a wonderful blend of humor and heart throughout and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Lopez delivers stunning art throughout the issue. I continue to be in awe of the different tones and styles at play in the art and how they perfectly reflect the tone of the scene and the emotions of the characters.
